IACURH stands for the Intermountain Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls, and is a regional affiliate of NACURH,Inc.  The National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH), as an organization, is dedicated to the facilitation of informational services to residence hall students.  IACURH, who’s region includes New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Alberta, and Saskatchewan, hosts two conferences annually for schools belonging to the region. Schools belonging to the Intermountain Affiliation are also permitted to send delegates to the annual NACURH conference.

NACURH is the largest student run, non-profit organization in the country.  While the largest annual meeting, the NACURH conference, can draw thousands of delegates to a single convention, the root of NACURH is in each individual school’s Residence Hall Association.  NACURH released a vision statement that acknowledged on campus living as an opportunity for students to directly affect their community for the better, and for leaders to take the necessary steps to make campus the ultimate place to live, learn, and have fun.

Attending a conference such as IACURH will empower individuals to take advantage of the opportunity to attend seminars, join discussion groups, meet people from other colleges, and sit in on appearances from some of the most renowned local leaders. It truly is an invaluable learning opportunity.  After the conference, it is up to the delegates who attended to take the knowledge they gained at IACURH back to their Residence Hall Associations where, through student diplomacy, they have the power to build the residence hall setting into a beacon of civilization and teamwork conducive to the four most integral years of their education.

Want to get involved?  Join your school’s Residence Hall Association or comperable student group as soon as possible!
